Employment Resources Southland (formerly the Southland Mature Employment Service) is a charitable trust in Invercargill, New Zealand that offers employment and support services to people seeking jobs. We assist people who are actively seeking work or investigating
alternative methods of earning a living e.g. self employment. We can help
explore establishing new services, co-operatives and small business.
Projects we are involved in include childcare, OSCAR, laundry service, general labourers and firewood. We offer
Employment Agency services for job seekers and employers. We believe
that a mix of age groups in a work place is an advantage to everyone,
especially to the employer.
Mature workers are reliable, multi-skilled and are concerned about the community. They have life experience, common sense and established contacts.
Employers can save time and money by using our services. Only applicants with relevant
experience are referred and all you have to do is choose one. There is no cost
for this service.
Meetings. Employment Resources Southland holds weekly, support meetings every Tuesday from 9 am till 10:30 am in the old Surrey Park School at 55 Isabella Street, Invercargill. These meetings include guest speakers and the ideas coming from these meetings are very valuable.

A job board is available at our office for our members use. A wide variety of job vacancies have been offered in the past. These have included babysitting, live-in situation, funeral director, tourism fisherman, store detective and dairy farm work.
